Apple has announced refreshed versions of the Mac Mini and Mac Studio desktop computers, introducing the M6 and M5 Ultra chips. The M6 is the first Apple Silicon chip built on a 2 nanometer process. It features a 12 core CPU and a 12 core GPU, and it is available in the new Mac Mini. The Mac Mini also offers an M5 Pro configuration. The M5 Ultra supports up to 512 GB of unified memory and 1.2 TB per second of memory bandwidth. Additionally, multiple Mac Studios can be linked via Thunderbolt 5 to create a cluster for running very large language models locally. Pricing for the Mac Mini starts at 899 dollars or 1,049 euros, while the Mac Studio starts at 2,499 dollars or 2,999 euros.
