Argentina Issues Yellow Weather Alerts for August 19

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) has issued yellow alerts for heavy rain, strong winds, and snowfall across several regions of Argentina for Wednesday, August 19. Rain alerts are in effect for Formosa, Santa Fe, Corrientes, and the mountainous area of Chubut, where precipitation between 30 and 70 millimeters is expected. Strong wind warnings apply to Jujuy, with gusts potentially exceeding 90 kilometers per hour. Additionally, snowfall alerts have been issued for Salta, Catamarca, and parts of La Rioja, with accumulations between 5 and 15 centimeters expected in higher altitudes. In the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA), temperatures are forecast to reach a maximum of 15 degrees Celsius in the city and 14 degrees Celsius in the province. The SMN recommends that residents secure outdoor objects, clean drains, and seek immediate shelter if outdoors during these events. Other reports provide localized forecasts for various cities in Venezuela for the same date, including Ciudad Guayana, Ciudad de Bolivar, Valencia, Isla Margarita, Maracaibo, and Maracay, where temperatures are expected to be significantly higher, ranging from 22 to 34 degrees Celsius.
