At least 30 people died and 22 others were injured following a landfill collapse in Conakry, Guinea. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Sunday, August 23, in the Dar-es-Salam neighborhood after heavy rains caused a large quantity of waste to collapse onto nearby homes. The government announced the casualties in a communiqué.
