- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
Rescue workers in Nepal have discovered the bodies of five mountaineers who went missing in November 2025 after an avalanche on Mount Yalung Ri. The victims include a German national, an Italian national, an Italo Canadian, and two Nepalese citizens. The mountain reaches an altitude of 5,630 meters and is located near the border with Tibet.
Local residents and rescuers found the bodies on Thursday. Biswash Karki, the head of the Gaurishankar municipality, stated that the army, police, and local rescue teams had been searching for the missing climbers, but the bodies remained hidden under thick layers of snow. Manoj Kumar Lama, a high ranking local police official, noted that a helicopter will evacuate the bodies as soon as weather conditions improve.
Nepal is home to eight of the ten highest peaks in the world, including Mount Everest, and attracts hundreds of climbers and hikers annually. According to the Himalayan Database, at least 1,093 people have died on these summits since 1950, with avalanches causing nearly one third of those deaths.
