Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

CJ Group has announced a target of 12 trillion won (approximately 8.5 billion US dollars) in annual sales in North America by 2028. The company plans to achieve this goal by creating synergies among its food, entertainment, and beauty businesses to leverage the global popularity of Korean culture. This target follows a period of rapid growth; sales in the region last year exceeded 8 trillion won, which is more than ten times the 800 billion won recorded in 2017.

During a visit to Los Angeles for KCON LA, CJ Group CEO Heo Min-hoe stated that the company will accelerate expansion by building an ecosystem that connects the K-wave to K-lifestyle experiences. CJ America CEO Kim Jin-sik added that the strategy involves turning interest in K-content into repeated consumption of K-food and K-beauty. The group currently operates 20 food production facilities and 55 logistics warehouses in the United States, employing over 12,000 people across 33 states.

CJ began its North American expansion in 1995 with an investment in DreamWorks. Subsequent acquisitions include DSC Logistics in 2018, Schwan's in 2019, and Fifth Season in 2021. Cumulative investment in North America reached 9.7 trillion won by mid 2026.
