  • A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.

Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Catastrophic flooding and mudslides triggered by a collapsing glacier near the Langtang Lirung peak have devastated northern Nepal and parts of Tibet. The death toll has risen to over 630 people, with approximately 2,400 others reported missing. The disaster has erased entire villages and left thousands of children in need of immediate assistance. In one instance, an 8 year old boy named Zoyal Ghale survived by climbing a tree and was later reunited with his mother through the help of a Reuters reporter.

The government in Kathmandu has declined offers of international rescue teams, requesting monetary donations instead. Officials cited the 2015 earthquake experience, where an influx of foreign rescuers reportedly clogged the capital's airport and focused on easily accessible areas. Some analysis suggests the decision may also be influenced by the political sensitivity of the region, which includes a key commercial pass to China and a proposed Chinese railway project.

Rescue efforts remain difficult due to the scale of the debris. While some survivors have been recovered, including several Italians and nearly 100 Indians, many others remain trapped. A temporary lake formed by the glacier collapse caused initial fears of further flooding, but recent cracks in the barrier have allowed water to drain gradually into two rivers.
