Flight operations at Hannover Langenhagen Airport were partially and then fully suspended on Tuesday morning after a drone was spotted near the southern airport fence. According to the German Air Traffic Control (DFS), the closures occurred between 3:44 and 5:20 to prevent the drone from moving toward the runways. The disruptions caused delays for six passenger flights bound for destinations including Mallorca, Rhodes, Antalya, Corfu, and Hurghada, and forced one cargo plane to be diverted. Normal operations resumed at 5:22.

Airport employees spotted the drone, but reports indicate that the Federal Police tracking technology failed to detect it. Because the equipment did not react, investigators suspect the device may not have been a commercially available drone. One source notes that investigators are not ruling out the possibility of hybrid activity and are looking into a potential connection with a previous drone incident in Leipzig.
