FIR registered against Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke in Maharashtra

Police in the Latur district of Maharashtra have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Abhijeet Dipke, the founder and convenor of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), and other party workers. The case follows a complaint filed by Sayyed Shamshadbano Khairatali, a 53 year old teacher at a Zilla Parishad Urdu school in Jawali, near Ausa. The complaint alleges that Dipke and his associates entered the government school without permission, sat among students to ask questions, and disrupted official educational work. It further alleges that Dipke defamed the school by claiming students from another institution were brought in for his visit and threatened to have the teachers suspended.

Dipke was visiting the school as part of the CJP's 'School Thik Karo' campaign, a nationwide drive launched on August 15 to improve conditions and amenities in government schools. The FIR was registered under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita including house trespass, criminal intimidation, criminal defamation, and the use of criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging official duty. Dipke also recorded the visit and shared the proceedings on social media.
