Flávio Bolsonaro Outlines Judicial and Governance Plans in Record TV Interview

Flávio Bolsonaro, the presidential candidate for the Liberal Party (PL), stated in an interview with Record TV that he intends to nominate Supreme Federal Court (STF) justices who are opposed to abortion and drugs. He emphasized that his nominees should be patriots who do not use their authority to commit injustices and who seek to restore legal security and credibility to the Court. The candidate noted that the next president could potentially appoint up to four justices during their term.

Regarding the role of his father, former President Jair Bolsonaro, Flávio stated that he would serve as a counselor and that any official role or ministerial position would depend on the former president's own decision. Flávio also criticized the STF's conviction of Jair Bolsonaro for an attempted coup of state, calling the process a farce and claiming his father was judged by enemies, specifically naming ministers Flávio Dino, Alexandre de Moraes, and Cristiano Zanin.

On the issue of the January 8 riots, Flávio advocated for amnesty for those convicted. He stated that if the National Congress does not approve amnesty, he intends to use presidential prerogatives to grant pardons. In other policy areas, he proposed classifying organized crime groups such as the PCC and Comando Vermelho as terrorist organizations. When asked about the 6x1 work schedule proposal, he avoided a direct yes or no, instead arguing for the freedom of workers and employers to negotiate hours.

Flávio also addressed allegations regarding the financing of the film Dark Horse. He denied any irregularities or the use of public funds, stating that the production was privately funded and that a forensic audit concluded no public resources were used. This follows reports from Intercept Brasil regarding payments made by former banker Daniel Vorcaro.
