This facility is reported to host personnel responsible for the maintenance of U.S. Patriot air defense systems used in Ukraine. In response to these threats, Minister Dobrindt announced the establishment of a new drone security research center in Saxony Anhalt. Some security experts and lawmakers have criticized the German government for its restraint in naming Russia, arguing that a policy of de escalation is incorrect.
