- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

Iranian state media reported on Sunday that President Masoud Pezeshkian met with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei in late July. According to the reports, the meeting focused on the national economy, including inflation and energy management, as well as military affairs and the ongoing war with the United States and Israel. This encounter follows a previous report in May of a multi hour meeting between the two leaders.
The announcement comes amid significant speculation regarding the health and whereabouts of Supreme Leader Khamenei, who has not appeared in public since succeeding his father in March. Reports indicate that Khamenei was seriously injured in a February 28 strike that killed his father, Ali Khamenei, on the first day of the war between Iran and the U.S. and Israel. Some reports specify that the current leader suffered facial disfigurement and other injuries in that attack.
President Pezeshkian has provided conflicting accounts of his access to the leader. On July 21, he stated that interactions were increasing daily, but by early August, he described communicating with the Supreme Leader as very difficult. In response to these doubts, Qasem Qoraishi, the deputy of the Basij Organisation, promised that footage of Khamenei among the public and with military commanders would be released in the future to shame the detractors of the Iranian people.
While center leaning sources report the meeting and the surrounding health speculation as factual developments, center right framing emphasizes the political instability and the potential power vacuum created by the leader's absence from public view.
