At least 15 people were killed in Israeli air strikes across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, marking the highest single day death toll in weeks according to Palestinian reports. The attacks targeted Gaza City in the north, Deir al-Balah in the center, and the southern region around Khan Yunis. Medical officials reported that the dead included two children and two married couples. The Israeli military stated that the strikes targeted military objectives, including an attack on a residence in Deir al-Balah aimed at two commanders of the Hamas Nuchba elite force.
The violence occurs despite recent claims by US President Donald Trump that Hamas and other armed groups had agreed to disarm.
