Israeli Ambulance Driver Charged with Espionage for Iran

An ambulance driver from northern Israel has been charged with working for Iranian intelligence, according to statements from the Shin Bet security service and Israel Police. The defendant, identified as 34 year old Amir Hisham Mohammad Titi from the village of Bi’ina, is accused of using his access to medical centers to pass sensitive information to an Iranian handler, including details regarding hospital preparedness during emergency situations.

Prosecutors allege that Titi filmed President Isaac Herzog and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich during a visit to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya. He also allegedly documented houses, streets, and a clinic in Amikam, where former defense minister Yoav Gallant resides. Additionally, he was reportedly sent to protest locations such as Haifa and Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square. Titi allegedly received tens of thousands of shekels in cryptocurrency for these actions.

This case is part of a broader trend involving dozens of Israelis charged with espionage for Iran over the last two years.
