The Italian government has extended a tax cut on diesel fuel through August 26. The decree was signed by Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti and Environment and Energy Security Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin. The measure provides a discount of approximately 17 cents per liter at the pump, which consists of a 14 cent reduction in excise duty plus a reduction in VAT.
