- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
A consortium including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is close to acquiring a minority stake of approximately 30 percent in Liverpool Football Club. The investment group is led by Amit Bhatia, the son in law of steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal and a former shareholder in Queens Park Rangers. The group also includes Facebook co founder Eduardo Saverin. Fenway Sports Group (FSG), which has owned the club since 2010, may announce the deal as early as this week. The investment would reportedly value the club at approximately 4.4 billion pounds, or 5.9 billion dollars, marking one of the largest valuations in football history. While FSG is seeking external investment, the group intends to retain control of the club. This follows a previous minority stake sale to Dynasty Equity in 2023. The club is currently in a period of transition following the departure of manager Arne Slot, forward Mohamed Salah, and FSG football CEO Michael Edwards. Bezos, who has previously explored bids for NFL franchises, would be making his first investment in football through this deal.
