Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Following a 7.1 magnitude earthquake on July 28, Kumamoto Prefecture is implementing various recovery measures. Kumamoto Castle reopened two weeks after the quake once safety checks were completed. In Hikawa Town, the prefecture has begun construction on four two story temporary housing units consisting of 13 households. These maisonette style prefabricated buildings were chosen because securing land outside of flood zones is difficult in the town. Additionally, the prefecture is promoting the installation of temporary housing, such as container houses, directly on the plots of residents' homes. This option is intended to help farmers who must care for livestock and crops and to address land shortages in certain municipalities. Governor Keiji Kimura stated that the prefecture will coordinate with the national government to meet individual needs. As of the 13th, 172 units of emergency housing have been started across four municipalities, with Kumamoto City starting an additional 50 units.
