Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

A 23 year old man has been charged with two counts of murder following a fatal house fire in Grangetown, near Middlesbrough. The blaze claimed the lives of 34 year old Natalie McDonald and her seven year old niece, Valentina Foster. In addition to the murder charges, Cleveland Police stated the man faces two counts of section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and two counts of attempted section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent. He is scheduled to appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court on Tuesday. Senior Investigating Officer Katie Smith of Northumbria Police described the event as a truly tragic incident. Chief crown prosecutor for CPS North East Katie Nicolson noted that prosecutors worked with police to establish sufficient evidence for the case, while reminding the public that the defendant has the right to a fair trial.
