  • A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.

Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

An NBC News crew was attacked and injured by masked Israeli settlers on Saturday while interviewing a Palestinian woman and her family in the West Bank. The incident occurred as the team interviewed 51 year old Aida Ahmed Abdullah, who stated that settlers had driven her and her family from their home. According to reports, masked men in a car attacked the crew with a stick; one member of the team noted that an attacker also carried a gun, though it was not used.

NBC international correspondent Matt Bradley reported being hit twice in the arm. Other injuries were sustained by an NBC cameraman, producer Lawahez Jabari, and Abdullah, who was hospitalized with non life threatening injuries. One source specified the attack took place in Jalud, a village near Nablus described as a flashpoint for settler violence.

The Israel Press Council responded by calling for security forces to ensure the safety of journalists and demanding that the perpetrators be located and put on trial. The council stated that harming journalists is a violation of the public's right to know and must be met with zero tolerance.
