Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
Mexican officials report an increase in bombing attacks carried out by criminal gangs. A recent incident occurred on Sunday in the state of Zacatecas, where a suspected car bomb exploded outside the police headquarters in Ojocaliente. Governor David Monreal stated that the blast injured at least 11 people, including two police officers, and caused extensive damage to approximately 40 buildings. Monreal indicated that the attack was likely retaliation for the arrest of a gang member on Saturday.
Security officials noted an evolution in criminal tactics, citing the use of landmines and drones rigged with explosives. In Zacatecas, security head Arturo Medina reported that one such incident occurred in 2024, six in 2025, and 10 so far this year. Similar attacks targeting security facilities and communities have been reported in other states, such as Michoacan, resulting in the deaths of military personnel. The Mexican central government has not commented on the issue.
