Newcastle United and Liverpool supporters gathered at St James' Park on Sunday to honor the memory of former England captain Kevin Keegan. Keegan, who played for both clubs and managed Newcastle, died last month at age 75 after a battle with cancer. The tribute took place during the Premier League season opener, with Keegan's family and several of his former players from his 1992 to 1997 managerial tenure in attendance.
Pre match tributes included players from both teams wearing Keegan 7 on their shirts during the warm up.
