Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered his government to adopt a program to restore the country's logistics and warehousing capacity following a series of Ukrainian attacks. During a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects on August 19, Putin stated that the restoration of damaged facilities must be carried out using a qualitatively new technological standard. He acknowledged that while these attacks are detrimental to the economy and affect growth rates, they have not had and cannot have critical consequences.

Much of the recent damage has targeted Wildberries, a major Russian e-commerce company that accounts for nearly 50 percent of the nation's online retail market. Ukraine's Defense Ministry claimed on August 16 that seven of the company's ten largest logistics centers were put out of action. Reports indicate that Wildberries lost approximately 31 percent of its warehouse space by August 17, with some estimates placing the total damage to the marketplace and its sellers at 878 billion rubles.

Beyond the infrastructure repairs, Putin described Russia's economic dynamics as modest but positive, projecting GDP growth of around 1 percent for 2026. He emphasized the need to prioritize investments in projects focused on internal demand. The Russian government has also discussed providing state support to affected sellers through tax deferrals, insurance contribution delays, and preferential loans.

Outlets with different political leanings framed the event differently. Center-leaning coverage focused on the strategic targeting of dual-use items and the specific impact on Wildberries. Center-left reporting emphasized the potential for state intervention and the financial vulnerability of the marketplace. Center-right coverage highlighted Putin's broader claims regarding the resilience of the Russian economy and his focus on structural reforms.
