Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
Every outlet covering this story shares the same political lean; read with that in mind.
The Reserve Bank of India kept the repo rate unchanged at 5.25 percent on Wednesday. The Monetary Policy Committee voted unanimously to maintain this status quo and retain a neutral policy stance. RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra stated that India remains the fastest growing large economy in the world, supported by resilient domestic demand.
Governor Malhotra noted that headline inflation is expected to rise in the near term due to higher food and oil prices. He projected that inflation will peak in the third quarter before declining, adding that the rise is sectoral rather than broad based. Regarding the global landscape, Malhotra said the West Asia conflict continues to challenge the global economy by disrupting supply chains and trade routes. He further mentioned that trade uncertainty persists following fresh tariffs imposed by the US and that global growth is projected to soften.
While the center leaning sources focused on the economic data and the Governor's warnings about global volatility, one source provided a brief market outlook suggesting that Indian shares were likely to open higher ahead of the decision.
