Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Russian authorities reported that six people, including three children, were killed and approximately 40 others were injured following a Ukrainian drone attack on the Black Sea coast and occupied Crimea. The most significant casualties occurred in the resort area of Gelendzhik, specifically in the village of Arkhipo-Osipovka, where a drone or its debris struck a crowded beach. Social media videos verified by Reuters show a drone hitting a beach area followed by a loud explosion. Local witnesses reported that air defense sirens did not sound before the attack and that some drones were shot down over the water or mountains before one hit the shore.

In addition to the beach strike, Russian officials reported casualties in occupied Crimea. Sergey Aksyonov, the Kremlin-appointed head of the peninsula, stated that three people were killed and two injured in Crimea, later updating the death toll to four. The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that 131 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight on August 3 across various regions, including strikes on a Wildberries warehouse in the Vladimir region and a technology university building in Belgorod.

Framing of the event varied by political lean. Center-right and center outlets emphasized the targeting of holiday-makers and civilians, with some quoting Russian officials who described the event as a deliberate act of terrorism. Center-left outlets focused more on the technical details of the strikes, the lack of warning sirens for civilians, and the broader context of Ukraine's campaign to target Russian infrastructure.
