- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
Russian forces have conducted near-constant air raid alerts in Kyiv and surrounding regions for five consecutive days, utilizing jet-powered drones that can reach speeds of 600 kph. These strikes have killed at least seven people and injured 43 across six Ukrainian oblasts. In Donetsk oblast, five people were killed, including a child. Two people died in Zaporizhzhia oblast, and one person was killed in Kherson oblast. Other injuries were reported in Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv oblasts.
Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 96 of 121 long-range drones launched overnight, while a single Kh-59 cruise missile failed to reach its target. Despite these interceptions, drones struck 11 locations and caused damage to warehouses, a retail outlet, and a residential building in the Kyiv region. In Odesa oblast, a Nova Poshta terminal was struck. The continuous nature of the alerts has disrupted public transportation and businesses in the capital.
Simultaneously, the Russian Defense Ministry announced it is preparing massive strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities. Moscow described these preparations as a response to Ukrainian attacks on Russian civilian and energy infrastructure. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the planned actions a tough response but stated that further military escalation is unnecessary because Russian forces are advancing.
Outlets with a center lean focused on the tactical shift to high-speed drones and the resulting humanitarian and economic disruption in Kyiv. Outlets with a center-left lean emphasized the Russian government's explicit threats to target energy infrastructure and the resulting concerns over Ukraine's winter energy security.
