This marks the final regular season series for the two Seoul based rivals at the historic stadium, which is scheduled to be torn down after this year. The Bears will serve as the home team for the series.

Beyond the sentimentality of the venue, the series is critical for postseason positioning. The Twins currently hold fourth place with a record of 64 wins, 51 losses, and 1 tie. The Bears are in fifth place with 61 wins, 52 losses, and 4 ties. Because the Bears are only two games behind the Twins, they could overtake their rival for the final postseason spot with a sweep this week. The Twins currently lead the season series between the two teams 7 to 4 with 1 tie.
