A shooting at the Bite of Seattle food festival near the Space Needle left three people dead and several others injured on Sunday. The deceased have been identified as a 19-year-old man, a 44-year-old man, and a 56-year-old woman. Among those wounded was a two-year-old boy; other reports indicate four victims were taken to the hospital in stable condition while one person refused transport.
Police stated that two suspects had been shooting at each other around 6:00 p.m. local time. One suspect, described as a young person, is currently in custody and two guns were recovered from the scene, but another suspect remains at large. Officials noted there is no further threat to the public.
The incident took place on the final day of the annual three-day event held at the Seattle Center. Mayor Katie Wilson, Governor Bob Ferguson, and Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal condemned the shooting as an act of senseless and horrific violence.
