Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Sweden has signed a contract worth 4.3 billion euros for the acquisition of four French defense and intervention frigates. The agreement was finalized on Monday, August 31, in Stockholm during a visit by French President Emmanuel Macron and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. The contract was signed by Naval Group CEO Pierre-Eric Pommelet and Swedish defense materiel administration director Mikael Granholm aboard the French frigate Amiral Ronarc’h.

The first vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2030. According to statements from the Elysée and the Swedish Prime Minister's office, this cooperation aims to strengthen both European and NATO defense. This acquisition follows a previous deal in December where France purchased two Global Eye surveillance aircraft from the Swedish company Saab for over one billion euros. The move is part of Sweden's broader rearmament efforts following the 2022 invasion of Ukraine and its 2024 entry into NATO.
