  • A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.

Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

United States President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that no talks with Iran are currently underway or scheduled, while simultaneously posting a map on Truth Social claiming the Strait of Hormuz as new United States territory. This statement contradicts previous comments from his envoy, Jared Kushner, who had described conversations between the two governments as robust. Iran has rejected these claims, with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stating that Washington is begging to negotiate after failing to force a surrender. Iranian officials maintain that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the United States fulfills the terms of a June memorandum of understanding, which include lifting oil sanctions and the naval blockade of Iranian ports.

Simultaneously, the United Arab Emirates has suspended all trade, commercial exchanges, and financial transactions with Iran. This decision follows accusations from the UAE Defense Ministry that Iran launched two ballistic missiles toward the country, one of which landed in Emirati territorial waters. Iran has categorically denied these allegations, calling them baseless. The UAE had previously been a primary target of Iranian attacks during the early stages of the conflict that began on February 28.

Further diplomatic friction has emerged regarding Oman, which has been mediating between Tehran and Washington. President Trump threatened to bomb Oman if it gets in the way of a US deal with Iran, expressing dissatisfaction with the sultanate's independent negotiations with Tehran over the management of the strait. While some reports suggest the United States is gaining ground in the strait by protecting ships using an Omani route, other sources indicate that neither side has total control over the waterway.

In a symbolic response to Trump's territorial claim over the strait, Iranian diplomats in India published a map claiming California as new territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, noting the large Iranian diaspora in the region.
