Triple Homicide and Cell Phone Store Robbery Reported in Soacha

Three members of a family were murdered inside their home in the Los Cerezos neighborhood of Soacha on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. The victims include a 53 year old woman, a 16 year old adolescent, and a 12 year old child. Armed men reportedly entered the residence and shot the victims around 2:00 a.m. but the bodies were not discovered by a relative until 11:10 a.m. Authorities from the Sijin and CTI are investigating possible motives such as micro trafficking or a settling of accounts; however, investigators noted that security cameras had been stolen before they could arrive at the scene.

In a separate incident on Monday, July 27, two individuals robbed a cell phone store in Soacha Centro. One suspect wore a National Police uniform, and the pair stole electronics valued at over 30 million pesos. Following a shootout with police and assistance from the community, both suspects were captured and the stolen items were recovered. Mayor Julián Sánchez Perico praised the rapid response of the police in this case.
