Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Major Jason Watson, an active duty U.S. Air Force officer, is facing three charges under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The charges stem from his public calls for the impeachment and removal of President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance regarding the U.S. war on Iran. One of the charges falls under Article 88, a rarely used provision prohibiting the use of contemptuous words against the President, Vice President, and Congress.

Watson was detained by police in uniform in July while protesting on the steps of the U.S. Capitol. During a subsequent appearance on CNN, Watson stated that President Trump has failed the country, violated the Constitution, and is killing Americans. The Air Force confirmed that Watson remains in pre trial confinement and will be afforded due process.

Watson's lawyer, Christopher Mutimer, stated that Watson acted with knowledge of the risks to his liberty and career. Mutimer expressed hope that others would find courage in Watson's willingness to stand by his convictions.
