The United Arab Emirates announced on Tuesday the suspension of all trade, commercial exchanges, and financial transactions with Iran. The decision follows reports from the UAE that two ballistic missiles were launched from Iran toward the country. According to the UAE Ministry of Foreign Communications, one missile fell outside territorial waters while the second fell within them, with both targeting maritime navigation.

Iran has denied these allegations. Esmaeil Baqaei, the spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, categorically rejected the claims and stated that such accusations are harmful to regional security and trust.

This move follows previous measures taken by the UAE, including the recall of its ambassador and the closure of Iranian state linked institutions such as a hospital and schools. While the UAE has suspended trade, the Emirati Foreign Ministry stated it remains committed to dialogue, cooperation, and regional integration. The two nations share deep historical and cultural ties and the UAE has previously been a major trading partner for Iran.
