US Missile Stocks Decline Amid Conflict in Iran and Ukraine

President Donald Trump has denied these shortages on Truth Social, stating that the US possesses vast quantities of ammunition and is increasing production. While center right framing emphasizes the President's denial of shortages and his conflict with Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, center left framing focuses on the technical specifications of the Patriot system and the urgent needs of Ukraine. UN Ambassador Mike Waltz attributed the low Patriot stocks to the volume of missiles delivered to Ukraine under the Biden administration. In response to these shortages, President Trump has offered Ukraine licenses to produce its own Patriot interceptors, although the manufacturing process typically takes over two years.
