Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance stated in an interview with Fox News that negotiations with Iran will be complicated and will take time. Vance described the Iranian people as extraordinarily difficult and the system as fragmented. He noted that the ultimate goals of the process are to ensure Iran never possesses a nuclear weapon, to strengthen the position of the United States, and to lower oil prices.

While Vance cautioned that the process is complicated, President Donald Trump suggested on Tuesday that an agreement regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz could be imminent. This follows a report from Axios citing anonymous sources that an agreement between the U.S. Iran, and Oman is essentially awaiting approval from Iran's national security council and supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei.

Iran has denied that it is negotiating directly with the United States. Iranian Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stated that the country has not yet decided whether to implement a memorandum of understanding. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian mentioned in a state TV interview that communicating with Mojtaba Khamenei is currently very difficult. Khamenei has not appeared in public since his appointment after being wounded in the attack that killed his father.
