- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
Every outlet covering this story shares the same political lean; read with that in mind.
Wildfires broke out across the UK on the hottest day of the year, resulting in homes being burned and 19 people being taken to the hospital. Among the injured were a child and three firefighters. In Stourbridge, residents were ordered to evacuate their homes as blazes tore through grassland and residential areas. The National Fire Chiefs Council reported that England and Wales have been struck by 1,017 wildfires this year, which matches last year's record total. At least 458 of those fires occurred in July alone. Other blazes were reported in the New Forest, the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland, and near the Sizewell B nuclear power station in Suffolk. Experts attribute the conditions to dry weather and back to back heatwaves.
