Former deputy Alessandro Di Battista is expected to be transferred from Cuba to Italy on Thursday, September 3. He is accompanied by his partner, Sahra Lahousnia, a friend, and Luca Di Giuseppe, the president of the association Schierarsi. A medical team from the Policlinico Gemelli, including a neurosurgeon and a resuscitator, has arrived in Cuba to support local doctors and evaluate his condition for transport. A final medical diagnosis has not yet been confirmed. Regarding the logistics of his return, Di Battista has reportedly declined the use of a state aircraft, stating that he is insured. If costs exceed his insurance coverage, the M5S and Il Fatto Quotidiano intend to cover the expenses through donations and a collection. The Italian government, represented by Antonio Tajani, has stated that assistance is being provided as it would be for any citizen in a similar situation.
