- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

The Allahabad High Court has stayed the suspension of Mohammed Anzar Ahmad, a teacher at a government school in the Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh. The court issued the order on September 7 while an enquiry into the teacher's conduct remains pending. The bench directed that the investigation be concluded as soon as possible, preferably within 15 days.
Ahmad was suspended on May 10 following allegations that he forced girl students to wear hijabs and boy students to wear skull caps. It was further alleged that he required students to recite the Urdu verse Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua by poet Muhammad Iqbal before morning prayers. The Sambhal administration initiated the inquiry after videos of students wearing the religious attire were shared online. An assistant teacher was also suspended, and a third teacher was suspended for failing to report the matter to senior officials.
In his legal plea, Ahmad denied the allegations and claimed he was on medical leave during the time of the incident. The state countered this claim by arguing that he was present at the school. While a center leaning source framed the event as a row over Islamic prayers, a left leaning source focused on the specific allegations of forced religious practices.
