Argentine Consultant Pablo Emilio Carrizo Found Dead Following Disappearance in Colombia

Colombian authorities confirmed on September 4 that Pablo Emilio Carrizo Hryc, an Argentine gastronomic consultant and businessman, was found dead following a traffic accident. The incident occurred on the road to Montería, Córdoba, specifically between the municipalities of Buenavista and La Apartada. Carrizo had been reported missing since August after he left a hotel in the El Poblado neighborhood of Medellín on August 18. He had reportedly stated his intention to travel to Cartagena to visit his ex wife and daughter, but he never arrived at his destination.

Carlos Arcila, the Secretary of Peace and Human Rights for the Mayor's Office of Medellín, expressed condolences to the family and confirmed the discovery. Friends and family had activated an urgent search route after Carrizo stopped communicating, which was noted as unusual behavior. Reports indicate that during the week following his departure from the hotel, Carrizo had remained there with a foreign woman; however, further details regarding his movements prior to the accident have not been released.

Carrizo was a recognized professional in the hotel and gastronomy sector with a degree in Hotel Business Administration from the University of Morón. He had worked across several countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Uruguay, and Venezuela. In Colombia, he served as a representative for luxury brands under Diageo and later operated his own business, Onalak Ice, which specialized in premium ice for cocktails. He was also an ambassador for the World Class Competition Colombia.
