Ariana Grande completed her Eternal Sunshine tour on Tuesday night in London, marking her official step back from public life. The singer expressed gratitude to her fans during the final performance at the O2 Arena, where she described the tour as one of the most beautiful experiences of her life. This hiatus follows an announcement last month in which Grande stated she would withdraw from future public facing appearances. As part of this decision, she will no longer appear in a production of Sunday in the Park with George at London's Barbican next summer; her co star, Jonathan Bailey, also withdrew from that production on Tuesday.

The decision to step away follows months of public speculation regarding Grande's health and appearance, specifically following the release of her music video for the single Petal. While some fans expressed concern over her weight on social media, Grande's publicist attributed the hiatus to endless, ongoing public scrutiny. Grande later clarified on stage in Chicago that the decision came from a thoughtful, empowered place and had been planned long ago, noting that human beings need breaks and boundaries.

During the London residency, which saw 200,000 attendees, Grande performed with high energy despite a foot injury that required her to wear platform boots instead of stilettos. She also performed a duet of For Good with her Wicked co star, Cynthia Erivo.
