Atiku Abubakar and ADC Leaders Campaign for Najeem Salaam in Osun State

Former Vice President and ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar appealed to voters in Osun State on Monday to support the party's governorship candidate, Najeem Salaam, in the upcoming election on Saturday. Speaking at a grand rally in the state capital of Osogbo, Atiku cited his long standing relationship with the people of Osun and expressed optimism that the large turnout at the event signaled a forthcoming victory. He noted that he had previously campaigned in the state for both Governor Ademola Adeleke and his own presidential bid, receiving support on both occasions.

ADC National Chairman David Mark and National Secretary Rauf Aregbesola also addressed the crowd. Mr. Mark urged voters to protect their votes and warned that attempts to rig the election would not go unpunished. Mr. Aregbesola, a former governor of Osun State, stated that the ADC represents the progressive tradition of Obafemi Awolowo. He outlined a platform for Mr. Salaam that includes reviving the O'MEALS school feeding programme, employing 20,000 youths through the re establishment of O'YES, and investing in rural infrastructure and mechanised agriculture.

Mr. Salaam promised that his administration would prioritize the wellbeing of the people and create 20,000 jobs within his first 100 days in office. He also warned that the party would not allow any form of rigging during the election. Atiku further distinguished the ADC from other political parties, including the APC and Accord, asserting that the best of Nigerians are currently within the ADC.
