Austrian writer Monika Helfer has died at the age of 78 following a sudden fall. The news was announced by her publisher, Hanser Verlag. Born in 1947 in Au, Vorarlberg, Helfer was a prolific author of novels, short stories, and children's books. She received numerous accolades for her work, including the Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art First Class.
