Bayern Munich opened the 64th Bundesliga season with a 5:1 victory over VfB Stuttgart in front of 75,000 spectators. Dayot Upamecano scored in the 21st minute to give Bayern the lead. Josha Vagnoman scored for Stuttgart in the 52nd minute to briefly tie the game. Bayern responded with goals from Michael Olise in the 55th minute and an own goal by Vagnoman in the 58th minute. Aleksandar Pavlovic scored in the 82nd minute and Luis Díaz added a final goal in stoppage time. The match also marked Manuel Neuer's 600th competitive game for the club.
