Blue Note São Paulo has inaugurated a second room on the second floor of the Conjunto Nacional to increase its capacity for concerts and corporate events. The expansion follows two years of planning and ten months of construction. According to partner Luiz Calainho, the total investment was 6.2 million reais, with 1.7 million reais dedicated specifically to acoustics.
The new space accommodates 320 people, which is slightly smaller than the 340 seats in the original room opened seven years ago. The second room maintains a similar aesthetic to the first but includes upgrades such as larger dressing rooms, modern equipment, and front facing boxes. While the venue began as a jazz club, it now hosts a variety of genres including pop, rock, MPB, and instrumental music. This diversity attracts between 10,000 and 12,000 people per month across an average of 40 shows.
Upcoming performances to mark the opening include percussionist Michelle Abu on Tuesday, October 15, and Flávio Venturini on Wednesday, October 16. BNegão is scheduled to perform on Saturday, October 10, with the Black Mantra band. The venue will continue its regular offerings of executive lunches, Saturday feijoada, and Sunday brunch. Future plans include integrating the two rooms via the exterior of the building, although the external area is part of the protected structure of the Conjunto Nacional and awaits final definitions regarding permitted interventions.
