Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Brazil's services sector volume remained stable in July compared to June, according to data released by the IBGE on Thursday. The result fell short of expectations from a Reuters poll, which had predicted a monthly increase of 0.2 percent and an annual increase of 1.1 percent. On a yearly basis, the volume of services rose by 0.9 percent compared to July 2025.

Information and communication services were the only category to record a decline over the previous month, falling by 2.5 percent. Conversely, growth was seen in transport (0.4 percent), professional, administrative and complementary services (0.6 percent), services provided to families (0.5 percent), and other services (0.7 percent). Tourism activities expanded by 2.7 percent in July compared to the previous month.

Regional data showed that 14 of the 27 federative units experienced a retraction in services volume. Sao Paulo had the largest negative impact with a 0.8 percent decrease, while Parana saw the highest growth at 1.9 percent.

Economic analysts suggest the stability reflects a broader moderation in economic growth. Factors influencing the sector include a heated labor market and government measures that stimulate consumption, balanced against a restrictive monetary policy with the Selic basic interest rate at 14 percent. Additionally, uncertainty regarding the presidential elections in October is expected to mark the second half of the year.
