- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Brazilian actress Laura Cardoso died of natural causes on Monday night at the age of 98. The news was confirmed Tuesday morning via the artist's social media accounts. A prominent figure in Brazilian dramaturgy, Cardoso had a career spanning over eight decades across radio, television, cinema, and theater. Fernanda Montenegro, a contemporary and former co star in the 2017 soap opera O Outro Lado do Paraíso, described Cardoso as an irreplaceable actress and human being in a video tribute.
Cardoso began her career in radio at age 15 during the 1940s and was a pioneer of Brazilian television, debuting in 1952 on TV Tupi. Her theatrical career included a significant partnership with director Antunes Filho, starting with the 1959 play Plantão 21. She later won a Shell Prize for Best Actress in 1993 for her role as Dolor in Vereda da Salvação. Throughout her life, she viewed herself as a worker of her craft, valuing professional dedication and continuous study over the status of a diva.
Her final cinematic work was a short film titled Dona Rosinha, directed by Marcelo Gomes. Filmed in Itu, Sao Paulo, the project was funded by the Lei Paulo Gustavo and addresses the abandonment of the elderly. Gomes noted that Cardoso remained highly professional during the production, resisting attempts by the crew to simplify her work due to her age. She was reportedly preparing for another film project with Gomes before her death.
