- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

The Central Bank of Brazil is in preliminary negotiations to interconnect Pix with TIPS, the instant payment platform of the European Central Bank (ECB). The ECB confirmed that a preliminary investigation is currently underway to explore this possible interconnection. This initial phase, which includes legal, technical, security, and operational analyses, is expected to conclude in September.
If negotiations proceed as planned, technicians expect an operational pilot to be launched in June 2028. The project would allow Brazilian users to use Pix via QR codes to make payments in euros at European stores, with the system performing an instantaneous currency conversion. Currently, Pix international transactions are limited to agreements with financial institutions in Argentina, Portugal, and specific cities in the United States.
Internal documents indicate that nine areas within the Brazilian Central Bank have been mobilized to define governance guidelines and evaluate system compatibility. A committee of deputy chiefs from the Brazilian Central Bank is scheduled to visit the ECB in October. The bank is now evaluating economic benefits, potential volumes, and implementation costs.
Thiago Cavalcanti, president of the National Association of Central Bank Auditors of Brazil, stated that this expansion highlights the need for institutional capacity and budget continuity. He linked these institutional challenges to the goals of the PEC for the autonomy of the Central Bank. Both reports note that the issue has gained sensitivity following the Pix system becoming a target of the Donald Trump administration amid an international dispute over the control of global financial infrastructure.
