British actor Richard O’Sullivan has died at the age of 82. He was widely recognized for his roles in 1970s television comedies, most notably as Robin Tripp in Man About the House and its spin off, Robin’s Nest. O’Sullivan began his career as a child actor at age seven and later appeared in the film Cleopatra. Between 1972 and 1981, he starred in over 100 episodes of peak time ITV comedies, including Doctor in Charge and Dick Turpin. In the 1980s, he starred in Me and My Girl as a grey haired widower. His screen career ended in 1996 due to declining health, and he suffered a stroke in 2002. He spent his final years at the Brinsworth House entertainers’ retirement home in London.
