- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detained British right-wing commentator Milo Yiannopoulos on Thursday at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated that Yiannopoulos legally entered the United States in May 2019 but overstayed his visa. According to DHS, an immigration judge issued a final order of removal on July 22 after Yiannopoulos failed to appear for his hearing. He remains in custody pending deportation. ICE records direct representatives to the agency's office in Alexandria, Louisiana, which serves as a deportation hub.
Yiannopoulos is a former editor of Breitbart News and has worked with figures such as rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene. Reports indicate he may have been in New Orleans for a scheduled performance by Ye. The DHS used the arrest to warn other undocumented immigrants to self-deport.
Far-right activist Laura Loomer claimed credit for the arrest on X, stating she reported Yiannopoulos to ICE and the FBI. This follows a public feud between the two. The arrest is notable because Yiannopoulos has previously advocated for strict immigration enforcement, including calling for ICE checkpoints at supermarkets and the summary deportation of those who cannot prove legal residency.
Outlets of various political leans described Yiannopoulos using different terminology. Center-left sources frequently labeled him a provocateur or a far-right figure, emphasizing his history of hate speech and controversial comments regarding pedophilia. Center-right sources also referred to him as a provocateur or far-right commentator, while focusing on his previous support for Donald Trump and his subsequent fallout with the movement. Center sources generally described him as a right-wing commentator or provocateur.
How each side framed it

- Centre
- Framed the event as the detention of a right-wing provocateur while detailing his legal history and public statements.
- Centre-right
- Focused on his role as a British provocateur and his shifting relationship with the Trump movement.
