Finlay Tarling, a 19 year old Welsh cyclist, died on Friday following an accident during the eighth stage of the Volta a Portugal. Tarling was competing for the NSN Development Team on a 166.8km route from Melgaco to Fafe when the incident occurred. Major Tiago Machado of the National Republican Guard confirmed a collision between the cyclist and a light goods vehicle, and an investigation is currently under way.
