The Badminton World Federation released updated world rankings on Tuesday following the conclusion of the World Championships in New Delhi. Taiwanese veteran Chou Tien-chen rose two places to No. 4 in the men's singles rankings after earning a bronze medal and 10,500 ranking points. Chou now trails new world No. 1 Jonatan Christie of Indonesia by less than 1,051 points. In contrast, former world No. 1 Shi Yuqi of China dropped to No. 6 after a first round elimination.

Indian athletes also saw significant movement in the rankings. The women's doubles pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand climbed 12 spots to World No. 27 after winning a bronze medal. Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty maintained their position as World No. 5 in men's doubles. Several athletes, including Satwik-Chirag and Lakshya Sen, will compete in the China Masters Super 750 starting September 1, though Ayush Shetty and PV Sindhu have withdrawn from the event.
