Canada and Ukraine Sign 100 Year Partnership and Air Defense Agreement

Canada and Ukraine signed a declaration on Thursday establishing a 100 year partnership during a visit by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Calgary. During the visit, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced a 350 million Canadian dollar package to provide critical air defense interceptors through the United States Jumpstart mechanism. Russian officials reported that 448 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight, with one woman killed by debris in the Voronezh region. In Ukraine, Russian attacks killed at least two people at a food producer in Dnipro. A drone attack on a cargo ship in the Odesa region killed two Azerbaijani crew members, an act for which Ukraine blamed Russia.
